Sustainble initiatives
Solar panels
A large solar panel system was installed on the roof of the building with the conference center in February 2022. The 547 panels have a capacity of 200 KWP, expected to cover a significant portion of the building’s energy consumption.
Certifified green power
The remaining power in the facility comes from certified environmentally friendly energy provided by Norsk Elkraft.
LED lightning
WTC Ballerup utilizes LED lighting both indoors and outdoors, contributing to low energy consumption.
Waste sorting
As of January 2022 all units contribute in waste sorting across 8 fractions. Multiple waste bins are placed on each floor for this purpose. The more recycling, the less CO2 emissions and air pollution with hazardous particles. Example: For every 1 kg of plastic waste that is recycled instead of being sent for incineration, we save energy equivalent to the average household standby consumption for all electrical appliances for 14 days.
Charging stations
With the increasing adoption of electric and hybrid vehicles, there is a growing demand for charging stations. Currently, 4 charging stations are available, with an additional 20 in the parking garage, ensuring more individuals can charge their vehicles while at work.

The WTC Ballerup high-rise
will be environmentally certified with DGNB Silver.
