On the 10th anniversary of the opening of Denmark’s first—and to date only—World Trade Center, we are opening the doors to Ballerup’s new landmark: the WTC Ballerup high-rise.
As planned, the impressive high-rise is now complete, and the first companies are already well underway in settling into the newly fitted-out premises. High ceilings, exposed installations, raw concrete walls, floor-to-ceiling windows and a fantastic view are just some of the features companies can look forward to in the building, which is environmentally certified with DGNB Silver.
Ballerup’s Mayor, Jesper Würtzen inaugurated the newly fitted-out facilities at a major
opening event on 12 September: “Ballerup has gained an impressive landmark. The WTC Ballerup high-rise makes it possible for even more small and medium-sized businesses to establish themselves side by side with large companies, creating fantastic synergy—and thereby helping to ensure that the Lautrup area will continue to be a leading business district in Ballerup and the capital. At the same time,
the expansion of the shared facilities enables the surrounding companies to benefit from the building to an even greater extent—which contributes to stronger collaboration between companies.”
CEO Ib Henrik Rønje, Kongeegen A/S, is pleased with the strong interest:
“We continue to see very strong interest in becoming part of WTC Ballerup. And with more than half of the high-rise leased, we are once again reassured in our concept, which makes us more than just an office building: personal contact, good service and a welcoming atmosphere that enables both companies and employees to thrive and grow.”
CEO Jacob E. Olesen, NRE Group A/S, is proud of the result:
“When we started this project, many people doubted whether it would ever become a reality—but we proved them wrong. Completing a project like this requires commitment and support from many people and partners. Therefore, I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this journey. We are very proud not only to have built a high-rise, but also to have created a guiding beacon, a landmark and an international hub for the business community in Ballerup.”
In addition to medium-sized and large premises, the high-rise’s nearly 20,000 m2 also includes additional meeting facilities, a shared rooftop terrace, VIP Business Club facilities, as well as 30 serviced apartments—an attractive alternative to a hotel room for, for example, seconded employees. In addition to the high-rise, a parking structure with 430 parking spaces has been built.
Change of Managing Director
In connection with the opening of the high-rise, a change of managing director was also marked. Managing Director Benedicte Rønje stepped down after nine years and passed the baton to Managing Director Henriette Bjerg Persson.
